Ultrasonic Extraction Process of Licorice

The ultrasonic countercurrent extraction process of licorice solves the problems of high ethanol consumption, low effective substance extraction rate, low cost, poor quality, and easy residual harmful substances in the traditional licorice extraction process in current technology.

The ultrasonic countercurrent extraction process of licorice includes the following steps:
I) Crush the licorice slices;
2) Perform ultrasonic countercurrent extraction on the crushed licorice in step I), using a mixture of ammonia and alcohol as the solvent, and extract 8-20 times the amount to obtain a crude extract;
3) Concentrate the crude extract from step 2) to obtain a concentrated solution, and then centrifuge the concentrated solution to obtain a clear solution and precipitate I;
4) Dry the precipitate I from step 3) to obtain crude glycyrrhizin;
5) Acidify the clarified solution from step 3) with concentrated sulfuric acid, stir thoroughly, and let it stand. Filter to obtain the filtrate and precipitate II;
6) Adjust the filtrate obtained in step 5) to neutral by adding ammonia water and concentrate it into a thick paste, then dry it to obtain licorice cream;
7) Wash and dry the precipitate II obtained in step 5) to obtain glycyrrhetinic acid.
The present invention comprehensively extracts multiple effective components from licorice through stepwise extraction and different extraction techniques. The effective components of licorice are extracted by ultrasonic countercurrent extraction without the need for high temperature heating, so that the effective components in licorice are not destroyed by high temperature and the yield of effective components is maximized.
