The basic principle of glass packed tower laboratory distillation tower is the same as distillation, which also utilizes the vapor-liquid equilibrium relationship of components and the difference in relative volatility between mixtures. However, a third component is added to form a difficult to volatilize mixture, and substances with similar boiling points or azeotropic composition are brought into contact at the upper part of the tower to gradually increase the concentration of volatile components (light components); The non-volatile components (extractants and heavy components) flow out step by step from the bottom of the tower.
The process of extraction distillation
Due to the boiling point of the solvent and the boiling points of each component in the original solution, it is always discharged from the tower kettle. In order to maintain a high solvent concentration on most of the trays in the tower, the solvent inlet must be above the raw material inlet. But in general, it cannot be introduced from the top of the tower because there are several trays above the solvent inlet that form the solvent recovery section, so that the solvent concentration in the distillate can be reduced to a negligible level before it is extracted from the top of the tower. The solvent and heavy components are extracted from the bottom of the distillation column and sent to the solvent recovery device.
The distillation small-scale experimental device is suitable for the distillation of petroleum fractions, alcohols, ethers, and volatile oils of traditional Chinese medicine under normal or reduced pressure. It has the advantages of separation and simple operation.
The distillation unit tower body is made of stainless steelor high borosilicate glass, with a height of 0.5 to 1.0 meters per section, and can be designed according to user requirements. Each tower section can be designed with 1-2 feed/temperature ports. The entire distillation tower consists of: feed tank, feed high-pressure pump, feed preheater, tower kettle, tower kettle liquid storage tank, tower top condenser, tower top reflux ratio controller, tower top storage tank, and other components.
