Subcritical water extraction process has been studied and applied in the fields of vegetable oil, essential oil, herbal medicine, vegetable protein, etc. Subcritical water extraction process is a low temperature, low pressure, high efficiency physical method, can avoid the problem of thermal denaturation during the extraction of biological components, and maintain the biological activity of the extracted components.

Features

1.Normal temperature extraction, low temperature (less than 40ºC) dissolubilization, no damage to the heat sensitive substances in the oil and meal after leaching, high pigment yield in the extract, bright color is the ideal process for the quality preservation extraction of plant oil, plant protein and natural pigment.
2.The solvent consumption is low, and the solvent consumption is less than 8kg per ton of raw materials.
3.There is no need for steam, only 90ºC hot water can be, compared with No. 6 solvent, can save 70% heat energy.
4.Small investment, low production cost (relative to carbon dioxide extraction equipment).
5.Low pressure and high safety (working pressure 0.3-0.7 mpa).

Principle

1.In the temperature range above its boiling point but below the critical point, the extraction solvent exists in a liquefied state under a certain pressure, which is defined as the subcritical state of the solvent. It is a Subcritical water extraction process process to extract biological components with the boiling point below 0°C as the solvent.

2.Propane, butane, dimethyl ether and tetrafluoroethane are the Subcritical water extraction process solvents that are widely used. The conventional extraction solvent ethanol, hexane, water, etc. is extracted at a liquid temperature below its boiling point, and the heating process when the solvent is removed from the extract causes thermal damage to the extract, and also causes the loss of volatile essential oil components.

Application

The Subcritical water extraction equipment can be used for projects of subcritical extraction such as oil refining project, plant protein powder, natural pigment, functional oils and fats, and Chinese medicine raw materials.
The main solvent is butane - we call it No. 4 solvent, boiling point -0.5° , the extraction process is under a certain low pressure ( 0.3Mpa~1.0 Mpa status to liquid ) and room temperature, comparing with the oil extraction technology hexane - No. 6 solvent, the technology by No. 4 solvent has some benefites such as little toxic, low energy consumption and less residual.
We can also provide the subcritical lab test eqiupment CBE 0.5L to 200L.
Subcritical butane extraction process is the ideal way of grape seed oil extraction method, and it has 15 years history in my company processing 100, 000 tons of grape seed material accumulated. The biggest advantage is that it'll not damage the heat sensitive ingredients in the material, and secondly, the product has less butane residual (below 1 PPM).
